Jesse, welcome to The Kubert School!  Just as a suggestion, if you give the Admissions Office a call (1.973.361.1327), they may be able to assist you with housing options and/or a roommate.  :)

Finally finished the first assignment of the Penciling correspondence course.

I'm thinking of taking a Saturday Life Drawing class at the school when my Drawing 2 class that I'm taking in Ocean Grove ends in January. Will there be one open around then and how many weeks will it be?

On what level is the Horror class on? Also is mind control considered part of the Horror genre as my two favorite horror movies; A Clockwork Orange and Cabinet Of Dr. Calagari both deal heavily in this subject.

Thanks so much :D

Hi!  That's great you finished your first Penciling assignment!  We look forward to receiving it!  :)

As far as our Saturday Life Drawing class is concerned, we offer this class year-round on a monthly basis.  This is a terrific class which is taught by instructors from our school who are also professional cartoonists.  We think you'll enjoy it!  :)  January has 5 Saturdays, so the class will be held for 5 weeks.  Here's more info and/or to register on-line through our website:

www.kubertschool.edu/programs/…

In regard to our Horror Correspondence Course, this is a wonderful course, too -- especially if it's your favorite subject!  :)  All our courses (including Horror) start off with the basics and are great for all skill levels, starting from newbies to students with more drawing experience.

If you have any other questions, you can message us here -- or, if you like, you can email us directly at info@kubertschool.edu .  We hope you have a great holiday!

Hello! I'm interested in your corresponding courses but have I few questions about them.

1. How long is each corresponding course?

2. If I buy a course now could I start it say in 3 months time or should I start it straight away?

3. If I buy the "Heroes & Superheroes Course" do I need to know how to draw people or does it teach how to do that too?

Thank you and kind regards

Hi!  Here's our answers to your questions:

1.  You have 18 months to complete each course, and if you need additional time, that can always be arranged.  FYI, a Certificate of Completion will be issued upon completion of the last lesson in each correspondence course.

2.  You can start the course whenever you can fit it into your schedule.  Remember, the purpose of these courses is to enjoy yourself while learning this form of art along with the guidance of our staff of professional cartoonists!  :)

3.  Yes, the Heroes & Superheroes Course will definitely teach you how to draw people!  Please don't be concerned if you are a beginning artist.  These courses are for everyone, including newbies to those people with more drawing experience.

In fact, these courses were SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED by Joe Kubert to help and encourage people (of all abilities and ages) who have an interest in this form of art.  All of the courses start off with the basics and are part and parcel of what it takes to draw cartoons effectively.

If you have any other questions, you can message us here -- or, you can email us directly at info@kubertschool.edu .  We'll be more than happy to assist you.

Happy Holidays!

I didn't hear about Joe Kubert's passing til recently. I loved his work. The mark he left on this world will not only be seen, it will be felt through the emotion he put into that work and through those he so generously gave his time to teach, for generations to come. He will always be the standard to which artists in the industry will be measured.
