Something more accurate of a Mock-up.

Mid-battle. Party member Ammit is selecting where to cast the spell, "Lavafroth".

NOTES:

*There'll be more complexity with the landscapes, I just stuck with a little water for now.
*I'm hoping to integrate some 3D into the landscape, allowing you to rotate the battlefield.
*Ammit is a new character yet to be revealed in the line-up. She's a Priestess, a magical-based supportive class.
*The cursor is Trinx, a fairy incarnate of D.I.N.X. from GSX

*Status effects shown:
Over Tralin: +Fortification ; +Stamina ; +Grace ; +Faith ; +Defense ; +Attack ; +Magic ; +Speed ; +Sneak

Over Djago: Lightweight ; Heavy ; Glue ; Curse ;
Debunked ; Poisoned ; Stunned ; Frozen ; Blind

The game looks amazing! Question: Are you actually going to make it? (I really really hope so)

Also, I think you should have some kind of mini-map or radar or something of the battle-area in the top left corner. That corner looks sort of empty...

I seriously recommend putting the character HUD thingies in the top left. It looks very awkward in its current position.

Or to balance it out, have a '# of turns' counter or something small to balance it out near the bottom

So it's by a time meter type battle system? (like FF10-2)

Nope.

Rather than having to wait on petty meters, you can perform actions as swiftly as you want. However, attacks use up Stamina (if your stamina runs too low, your stats are negatively effected do to fatigue - Stamina does recharge, though) magic takes time to charge, and skills do either one (depending on the skill used). I hope to adjust the system so that moving quickly and being patient both have their ups and downs.

Maybe. I'd actually put that in the top with the other two clocks.

I like it!

After all, I need the character icons at the bottom, as there's space left for one special slot, and so that I can display things above them.

A minimap at the upper-left should be perfect, as battlefields can get HUGE. I can also display other general information under it, like objectives and such.
