Hi Nina!  I just wanted to let you know that I've featured your work in a post called January Birthstone Dragons II by Various Artists on my dragon artwork site (with proper attribution and links back, of course).  I love this piece, and I'm definitely thinking about getting in on your latest Kickstarter!  You can find me at Writing Dragons, and this feature here.  Keep up the great work!

It's this little rubber tipped tool, it's almost like a dental pick

your dragons are very cute by the way. I used to strictly make mine from clay but I wanted them to be costume props and their tails kept breaking so I taught myself how to make molds and the rest is history lol. now I make them from latex and soon I will make them from foam latex which is even better for props and puppets. I love your site too jelly of your logo, you made me want to come up for a new name for my etsy shop haha. I changed it from dragonempress87 to dragon's chamber :)

Thanks ^_^ Yeah foam latex is great but a bit of a pain to work with :( But in the end it would be great to use for something like what you make. Yeah I worked in just clay for years & kept having things getting broken in shipping so one of the reason I now use resin & polystone

Oh I like the name dragon's chamber ^_^

how do you make your molds? silicone? I always have trouble with the horns and legs not coming out right.

yes I'm using silicone. The horns on these guys are small enough it's hasn't been an issue yet, but on anything larger I would make the horns a separate piece & glue them in after casting. Same with the wings on these guys, it's another mold and then glued in place. With legs & things you just have to place lots of gates to make sure to get all the air out.
