The Drop is a single-elimination comic tournament. Contestants will be randomly paired up against one another each round. Your characters are not required to fight your opponent's characters. They may fight, stall, save, hinder, cooperate with, or even kill your opponent. However, keep in mind that your character must somehow come out on top.
ENTRIES SHOULD BE TURNED IN 11:59 PM THE DATE OF THE DEADLINE, HAWAII STANDARD TIME.
The deadline is somewhat flexible and entries can trickle in after that time. However, once I post a journal announcing the cutoff, no entries/pages will be accepted. Submitting before the deadline will guarantee your entry's acceptance.
Extensions will be offered for most rounds. However, please keep in mind that:
ALL EXTENSION REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED AT LEAST 3 DAYS BEFORE THE DEADLINE.
I want to give notices about extensions long before the night of the deadline. If you think you need it, ask for it.
- No extension in the first round.
- Extensions will be one week.
- ONE extension per round (with possible exception to the finals). Only in serious emergencies will we go back on this rule. In the meantime, I'm sticking to it.
Death/killing characters is an option in this OCT. You don't need to ask permission of the creator beforehand; consequently, keep in mind when auditioning that your character may not survive. Please be respectful toward your opponent and his/her character should you decide to kill them in your entry. You have been warned.
Death in the OCT does not mean your character is permanently dead outside the OCT. What you do with your character afterward is up to you.
Spectator entries are more than welcome even if you are not a contestant. If you are a contestant and have lost your round, you may continue your character's story with spectator entries; however, please note you cannot have your characters win the competition.
LINK YOUR ENTRIES
This is more to help us judges read your entry smoothly rather than having to search through your gallery for the next page.
There are seven judges for this OCT along with two emergency backup judges. The voting will be done based on the first five votes received from the judges.
If you have concerns regarding results, another contestant, judges, or the host, please take it up with wandering-ronin or the judges in notes.
All issues will be dealt with as fairly as possible. Understand that once a decision has been made, it's final.
