Welcome to the group! The-Color-of-Copics is a group that has been established mainly to showcase, spotlight and encourage quality marker illustrations, created with Copic markers (along with other general marker tools).
If you are not a marker artist and do not plan to become one, please consider watching the group instead. When joining, please include what you're looking for in a group so that we can adjust to your suggestions.
We are not currently looking for contributors. When we need more admins, we will contact individuals on an invite-basis, or put up a notice in the group blog. Thank you!
There is a limit of 1 entry per week per member (once per week meaning once every seven days). Make sure that all deviations are appropriately flagged if needed, but besides that, anything you would like to submit is fine. Additionally, if your submission expires before it's fully voted on, then you may resubmit it. Please remember to submit scans of your work, not snapshots/photographs. This is to ensure the best quality representation of your work, which we can accurately examine. Also please do not submit reproductions or copies of other artists' work.
Keep the obvious in mind. We are a marker group, meaning that we focus on traditional artwork. Our target is mostly on this, so remember that when submitting. Also, while our name is The-Color-of-Copics, it does not mean that you can't submit other types of artworks from other marker brands as well. Any brand is acceptable as long as the piece otherwise meets the guidelines.
Please try to keep your submissions to your best finished work. Be rational. Submit the pieces that you spent time and effort on. The group gallery is not intended as an extension of your entire gallery, only your best work.
If your submission is refused, please do not act irrationally or angry towards our admins. Use this as a motivational resource to improve on your skills. You are welcome to ask as to why your submission is declined if it happens, but please do not explode in rage at our admins if they decide to vote "No". They are busy people who volunteer their time to the group, and who use their knowledge and experience to vote fairly on all submissions. Trying to force your opinion on them will not get you anywhere. We are also a selective group that would not like to overcrowd your inbox with submissions, which is why submission quantity is limited.
Please be patient, it may take a while for your submission to go through the complete voting process. It can take a few hours or even a few days, it all depends on when the admins are online and able to check the submission queue. Submissions must receive a certain number of votes yes or no from our admins in order to go through the queue.
If you have already submitted a deviation to 10 groups or more, please do not submit it. This is to keep people in multiple groups from seeing the same picture several times in their inbox, and to keep a certain level of fairness in the number of views/features per deviation. Also, please do not resubmit any deviation that has been declined already. It will only be declined again. The only exception to this guideline is if we ask you to please resubmit.
Please be aware that it is not only you that resides in the group. There are others that would like to have a pleasant experience and learn something from the group. Any rudeness will not help whatever you were aiming for in the first place. Impolite and arrogant behavior will see you removed.
If you want to get to know your fellow members, ask questions about Copics, get advice on your social life, have a distraction while drawing, or anything else, check out our group chatroom at: chat.deviantart.com/chat/TheCo… Soon we will hopefully establish group meetings in the chatroom where you'll be guaranteed someone to bounce ideas off of or ask questions and such about what we do.
