Commission for my fellow artist :iconguyver89: of a scene from his "Halo: Ammunition" story -- specifically SPARTAN-A102 and SPARTAN-C082, aka Quiver Strong and Quiver Tall, during a brief lull in the fighting during the glassing of the human colony of Orin.

MAN this is so immersive, the simple background and weather works SO WELL!

Thanks! I tried to focus on the ominous atmosphere in particular.

Is that a belt-fed SAW? pretty damn cool custom armor I must say
The-Chronothaur's avatar
It's an M247 GPMG, specifically the Halo 2 Anniversary redesign, which is design-wise more or less an elongated SAW.

Oh, you mean the variant of mounted turret Johnson carries around on Cairo Station? Love that thing in both firepower as look

When I saw the gun in his hand, I just realised that the UNSC has a relatively small arsenal at hand. Like they don't even have different machine-guns besides the demountable MG,

One can assume they have more weaponry, we just don't see all of it in the games (due to logistics, different units being issued different gear, etc). The novels and other media also feature a wider array of weapons and gear, and even the MGs in the games do vary - they've each been a different model since Halo 2 even though they do perform similarly in-game.

Thanks again man, you got Grant and Erol perfectly!

I'm glad that you like it! I know you put a lot of detail into your characters and story so getting them right was really important.
yeah it looks great. and if you didn't point out that helmet i wouldn't have notice myself.

But can't wait for my second commission to be made.

Fantastic work with the spartans AND the environment, here. You've captured the wear and grit that really portrays a spartan team in the middle of a war. Also love the unique armor additions, like the ammunition satchel, little details like that really add a lot of personality to the characters.

The head on that spartan in the background is a bit small for the body.
The-Chronothaur's avatar
Maybe. I sized it to emphasize the fact he's meant to be a giant of a man, even for a Spartan, so his head would come off as smaller in relation to the body.

oh okay if it's intentional then it's intentional I guess haha

God there's nothing more beautiful than seeing people's OCs in such detail.
