Submission rules

We have finally had the chance to sit down and revise the rules!

This is the outcome:
- Canon images ONLY. Use EXIF to prove it! If you do not have EXIF or any metadata to prove it, we would appreciate you adding your camera details in the pictures description.

- No heavy editing on the pictures. That means:

-> No unreal colors (black and white is acceptable)
-> No off toning (unless it comes with film used) e.g.
- sepia
- cross-processing
- "vintage look"
- cream toning for b/w
-> No selective toning
-> No heavy vignetting
-> No TEXT in the images (that does not include your signatures/watermarks)
-> No added textures
-> No collages/diptychs/triptychs
-> No HDR with halo (yes to subtle HDR!)

- You have to be the rightful owner of the submission.
- Max. one submission per week.
- We also accept good kinematic art, if it's done by using Canon gear.

We will decline pictures that don't comply to the rules, if we have told you once, don't make us say it again.
We get a huge amount of pictures coming in daily, so have patience, if the picture should expire, it will be dealt with.
It's okay to ask for critique and feedback as long as your picture is compliant with the rules. If not, you will not be answered.

We also want to accent that from now on we accept SOME HDR images, that means, if the picture looks good and benefits from the colour blending, then in some cases we might accept your work.

If you have questions that don't have anything to do with your submission, please send them directly into our inbox, we ask you to NOT post questions on the front page as comments, cause that might go unnoticed and not get an answer.

Our standards are not too high, but yes, they are not low either.
these might be some examples why we have denied your work:
- The quality isn't good enough. Yes, if you have very shaky hands, use a tripod, if you don't have one, be creative and build one, or use something to stance yourself with.
If the quality of the image is really severely damaging the overall look of the picture, than it's more than enough of a reason for us to decline it.
- The picture is not compliant with the rules. As you see we have revised some rules, and we're not that harsh anymore, but we still did manage to leave some submission criteria in, so please, PLEASE go through the rules before you submit anything. IT WILL HELP US ALL in the long run.
- The picture just isn't good enough. YES, we know you love your dog, and that sunset looks SO good sitting on the hilltop with the loved one, but don't forget WE DON'T KNOW THE STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE. Might just be it's not good at all if we're not able to feel the same things you felt.

In the end, we want to be a group that showcases good work done by using canon gear, we don't want to flood peoples message boxes, but if your picture is good enough, we see no reason to not accept it.

GOOD LUCK, and thank you for reading. All our love
- Canon Club Crew
Hey watchers and followers!

Some of you have already noticed that we have not been able to go through all the submissions.
For this reason we are looking for two new moderators!

What are our requirements:
- You have a good eye for photography, as shown in your portfolio or dA page!
- You can dedicated some time, each day, to go over the submissions and vote.
- Canon, you must shoot it :).

We prefer if you have at least one accepted image in our gallery.

How to apply?

Well we don't bite so no formal stuff. We just love to get a message with a little bit about yourself, a link to your page / portfolio and tell us why you would love to work with us to expand this group. Any ideas you bring with you are most welcome.

I'm looking forward to read your response. Questions can be asked in the comments.

In addition to the gallery full of Canon pictures, this group is a resource for information. Here is some of the latest photography news:

Can I ask why my submission…
... was refused?
Hyperized Featured By Owner Jul 17, 2015  Professional Photographer
Those questions are answered in the Gallery submission usually.

In this case at least to me (I cant speak for the other reviewers) its boring and it looks heavily edited.

Do you accept photos taken with a Canon DSLR, but with a different brand lens?
IaiaRose Featured By Owner Apr 13, 2015   Photographer
Yes definitely
Hyperized Featured By Owner Mar 28, 2015  Professional Photographer
Yeah no problem! Just make sure you detail that with either the correct EXIF data, or a proper comment :).

Hi there,

I'm afraid there has not been a lot of moderation activity lately, though we have a lot of active submissions.
We have spots open for moderators if you are intersted!
HePhoto Featured By Owner Oct 28, 2014  Hobbyist Photographer

Thanks for your reply.
I am already active somewhere else as moderator ;)
