Silhouetted abbey

The sun peeking round the edge of Titchfield Abbey.

This came out surprisingly well lined-up, given that I took it with my eyes closed! Since looking directly at the sun through an optical viewfinder is generally considered a Bad Idea, I lined up the photo while in the shadow of the abbey and tried to work out where to stand to get the sun in the corner. I then shut my eyes, took a couple of steps to the left, and tripped the shutter.

The scan of this frame is a bit off - the settings I was using seem to have favoured dynamic range over contrast and tried to preserve shadow detail. I might rescan this at some point to lighten the sky and darken the buildings.

Taken in autumn 2016 with a Nikon F-301 loaded with Kodak Gold 200-7 film and a Nikkor 35-105mm lens, scanned with a Nikon Coolscan III. Cross-posted to LiveJournal. Scanned from film Green 1010, frame 14.
