HoustonRH7, I was there too, in 2002 or 2003, I don't remember.  Your poem is, sadly, accurate, and it affected me acutely.  I'm glad I found it, though, as well as the comments on here.  A part of me will never be able to leave CHA, and I'm sure that's the sad experience of many former cadets.  The absolute cognitive dissonance of marching to church and memorizing Bible verses while being continually beaten and abused physically and mentally.  Not to mention all the rest of it.  
it was a joy to see.  Very nice work! also, very reminiscent of Prisoner of Zenda, which is good.  Did you ever read a particular TinTin comic that's somewhat down the same alley, with a fictional eastern/central European country, experiencing a vaguely similar situation?  I forgot the name, unfortunately.
