Since my change in major I haven't had much time for drawing. However, whether or not I'm as active in the hobby anymore, there are still tons of eager artists who can always use advice around the forums in which I am active. I plan to keep a list of "art tips" here, so that I can pull from them when someone needs help. Here goes: 1: If you're new to the field or just need some new practice, always always always reference anatomy from life. If you don't have anyone willing to model, the internet is great for photos. Ah-wuh... heh-hey! :D <3
I have to say that I agree with you'rre comments on the SPLICE Contest winner and I followed the links. You're right about those refs I think. I also have this to say,
I've taken a look at this artist gallery and I think he did a great job on this contest entry.

It's because it looks so real is why it won. Yes it does look like a photo. I'm sure he had a great collection of refs to go by. Google embryos and you'll see that this image is a tough look to capture. It looks like it is part bird. A bird embryo looks a lot like this. So the only thing that was the best about this creature photo look I would say is the point of view.
Oh definitely, the pic is amazing. ..I'm... I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time telling if you think I thought it didn't deserve what it got. Also sorry I'm so late to reply, deviantart is like "haha wut, no notifications for you."
Oh I get it. The winner of that SPLICE Contest won for two reasons only and that is the creator of the movie or director was looking for something like this to choose as the winner. 2nd reason is because the contest entry got the most views.
So no I don't think the SPLICE Contest winner should have won at all based on on most viewed contest entry.
I hope this clears things up.
Unfortunately I don't rightly remember the piece(s) we're talking about anymore :( I'd be able to discuss it better if I recalled. I'm terrible. D:
I agree with your signature, assuming it isn't being sarcastic. I find all of those erotic drawings unessescary.
