GUYS I NEED UR HELP PLS READ <3

okay so clearly my purchase on overwatch didn't work out which is why i want to (drumroll pls) purchase another laptop for myself to play it on. yEp i want to do that !!!

so naturally i need to find a system that CAN run it smoothly at around 60fps on high settings

i'd reaaaally prefer it to be cheap; i am a poor student and i dont earn money very fast, at most i could fork out $500 NZD

if you guys have any reccommendations or any idea of what I should do- please please please let me know! your comment is greatly appreciated and im willing to give free art for whichever works out in the end

thank you so much if you comment <3 ive been searching but i know nothing about windows/systems that can run overwatch so i really need this extra help ;_;

alternatively it'd be  cool if someone helped me setup bootcamp on my mac- but i think i might need another laptop riprip

thanks again!!

So I haven't actually played Overwatch myself, don't own it, but if your aim is 500$ NZD (which I believe is somewhere around 350$ USD) you're probably looking at something that's not going to run the game at the highest settings. For instance, the laptop I currently have cost me almost 1000$ USD (about 1423$ NZD) and it came with a 960M, which at the time I bought it was still a pretty new card, and I have to run most games at 1080p low settings or 720p high settings in order for things to be up in the 60 fps category. Anything less than a 900M series laptop just won't cut it for 1080p 60fps at high settings unfortunately. There are options like this - goo.gl/tWWdKS that are only a bit more expensive than your budget, but less than mine cost, with 800M series cards in them, but like I said before they won't be as powerful. At the same time, this laptop I linked only has a 720p resolution screen anyway, so it wouldn't be as bad, but not great either. (Keeping in mind my laptop, the 1000$ one, also included a 3D sensing camera and a 4K screen, which were both upgrades that made it more expensive). Also, I don't really know what companies ship to you, as a lot of the one's I check are US based.

Essentially, I don't know if 500$ NZD will get you a laptop that will play the games you want. However, if you invested in a tower pc, we could probably whip something up. XD

For instance, I'm building a gaming PC for my brother this christmas with money he and I get and smash together. Here's the list of parts I put together - goo.gl/6TxATG

I'm going to be upgrading to a 1060, but that's about 2/3 of your entire budget. For you, I'd probably recommend going with an either 100$ USD GTX 1050 or if you wanted a slight advantage a GTX 1050Ti. They're both great cards for non-VR gaming and might even be enough for Oculus Min spec, but that's besides the point, they'd be perfect for you at 1080p. I included price points in that google doc for building the same pc with a 1050ti instead of a 1060 so you can look at it. My brother doesn't have to buy Windows or a hard drive because he already has that in his current machine, so you'd have to find prices for those two items in New Zealand, but for all the other parts you'd need to make a definitely Overwatch capable desktop pc it comes to about 382$ USD, which is about 543 New Zealand dollars, so not a whole lot more than you were budgeting for (and like I said, the 1050 is 50$USD cheaper than the 1050Ti, so you could even get it a little cheaper still!)

Hope this helps! sorry I made this post soo long, I love PC building. Built my own tower from scratch and stuff (literally took the hard drive from an old Emachine and bought everything else! XD)

Oh, and just a little pro tip - if a nvidia graphics card has 20 or 40 anywhere in it's name, don't buy it. It will NOT run the games you want to play at high settings at a good resolution. So 820's, 820Ms, 940Ms, just don't buy them. They're junk cards to go in suuuuuper low end laptops. 50 is the entry-level gamer number. If you want 60fps and a good frame rate you DEFINITELY don't wanna go less than  50 on any nvidia generation.

I did a bit of digging and these are the ones I found
laptopninja.io/laptops/dell-in…
laptopninja.io/laptops/hp-250-…
laptopninja.io/laptops/acer-as…
laptopninja.io/laptops/hp-15-a…
laptopninja.io/laptops/acer-as…
These may not run it on high but they should run and they should all be less than 500 bucks.
I'd recommend doing a little research yourself.

I would love to help. unfortunately electronics aren't my forte XD I was looking around but it seems it might be difficult to find a laptop that has a disc drive at around $500, did you buy overwatch as a disc or did you buy it for example on steam? If it's electronically bought you'd be in more luck, however a lot of the cheaper 'laptops' tend to be touch screen more like ipad type laptops :/

Sorry I couldn't be much help, I know Dick Smith has a lot of laptops and stuff if you want to look around on their website :) But otherwise I unfortunately can't help you which sucks!! DX DX But I wish you the very best for finding a suitable laptop!! Don't give up!! :D

Yessssss get a laptop!!! I know how to use windows but building them isn't my forte, although building pc's was my Dad's job for 30 years and two of my irl friends already know how to build pc's. I'll ask them for help and pass it on to you!

just something to hold you over. It doesn't hold up to overwatch really but it has some good stuff in it and will keep you busy for a bit
