Tharoksu horses hail from the remote island of Tharoksu (a fictional place for the sake of their unique development). They are one of many of the island’s species that were left isolated for many centuries without human intervention. It's believed these horses first came to the island from the wreckage of ships sailing the seas nearby. Skeletal remains of these horses can be found dating back as early as the tenth century. However, those remains were much smaller statured horses than the current Tharoksu's standards, leading researchers to believe as more explorers began to take to the seas, more types of horses found their way to the remote island of Tharoksu, left to crossbreed into what the current standard is today. Every Tharoksu import, aside from the Ambassadors, will have what the group refers to as their "Import Log Comments" Tharoksu available for purchase/taming will not receive their log comments until purchase/taming completion. This is to keep the log comments on top of purchasing inquiries/taming logs. These logs are used to track all of your Tharoksu's earnings in art, tiers, skill points, registration, chameleon shedding, and offspring. Overview In addition to the hunt trait that Tharoksu Horses possess, they have developed an adaptive form of camouflage called “chameleon shed”. This is a process where the Tharoksu undergoes a shift in the appearance of its coat in which the old coat is shed away and a new coat is displayed. It goes deeper than just the coat as the skin can undergo pigmentation and depigmentation resulting in a change of white patterns as well. This shed never changes the genotype of the Tharoksu, only the outward appearance of the Tharoksu. For example, it is not uncommon for a Tharoksu carrying the Leopard Complex to change location of spots or a Tharoksu with the Sabino gene to alter from a loud white coat to nothing but an unusual face marking. These sheds can be very dramatic or as simple as a change in tone. This does not “get rid of” or “add” any genes; it only alters the appearance of already present genes.
