Before I begin, I'm sorry to say that this isn't me announcing my triumphant return to posting captions. I originally didn't want to post anything more on my account before I regained the motivation to write captions again, but I suspect that if I wait much longer to do this, it'll be too late.
A lot of you have probably noticed that many TG caption writers on DeviantArt—anynomous1234alt, jeanettentutu, PKAngel, ourmonkeymasters, and several more—have either had some/all of their TG captions removed from the site or had their accounts suspended. From what I've gathered, this is due to DeviantArt recently cracking down on deviations that use models' pictures without express permission, leaving many captions unable to be viewed until said permission is granted. And let's face it: Upwards of 99% of TG captions will not
get models' approvals for a variety of potential reasons. I think I recall reading one user calling this the "Capocalypse" or something like that in a comment, but it's not a term I personally feel like coining. As a side note, which I personally do not want to make the primary focus of this journal, I don't oppose DeviantArt's decision to crack down on this at all even though it upsets me and our community. It's well within their rights and maybe even their responsibility to do so.
Anyway, I realize that it's entirely possible that the same could happen to me; in fact, I'm a bit surprised it hasn't yet. So, here's my own personal solution: Blogger
archives. I will try to post all of my current captions on those two sites in the same order that they were posted here on DeviantArt. At the time of writing this, so far I've only posted my first caption on both archives, but I'm sure it will take quite a while to finish for a few reasons: I'm not familiar with either site's format, I have almost 200 posts to make on each archive, and I can certainly see myself making some progress with one or both archives and then just abandoning it for a while. (I'm not afraid to acknowledge my personal faults.)
Eventually, I may turn the pages into more than just archives, but for now, that is all they are. By this, I mean that you should not expect me to respond to any messages on Blogger or Tumblr, so I'd like to ask that my Fans limit their means of contact to still only being via DeviantArt comments and notes. I think that that's all I have to say on the matter for now, so I'd like to end this by thanking my loyal Fans for staying strong after more than two years of inactivity and by wishing the best for TG-caption authors who have been impacted by the recent changes.
