Close friends (Kefla TF/AP)
Kyla Graves hummed to herself as she moved from one display case to the next one. The young girl was in a jewelry store located inside her town's local mall. The store was relatively empty, which suited Kyla just fine as it allowed her to search to her hearts content. “I wonder…” Kyla muttered to herself as she gazed at a golden bracelet. “Would Farina like a bracelet or something else?” Kyla frowned. She wanted to get her best friend a good gift. After all, Farina would soon be moving away tomorrow. Kyla wanted to give her friend something nice to keep as a memento. “Can I help you find anything?” An employee suddenly asked, jolting out of her thoughts. “I’m looking for a gift for my best friend.” Kyla explained. “She’s moving away and I…just want to get her something nice before she leaves.” The employee smiled. “That’s very nice of you. You two must be very close.” Kyla flushed. “Y—yeah.” Though Kyla wouldn’t admit it out loud, there was a part of her that wanted to get

Three months had passed since the play revolution had begun. Within a short time frame, over half of the country had been transformed into what were known as ‘inklings’. The remaining humans found themselves forced into hiding, lest they get transformed into an inkling. Still, with inkling's having control over vast amounts of territory, supplies were difficult to come across. As a result, people had to make daring runs into inkling territory in order to get supplies. Most people were lucky if they were able to come back with their humanity intact, if they ever came back at all that is. But for some people, the benefits far outweighed the risks. This is what a young girl named Olivia Rodriguez desperately thought to herself as she searched through the shelves of an abandoned supermarket. “Damn it, it’s not here!” Olivia grumbled under her breath. “I doubt Inklings even need to take Tylenol so why isn’t there any left?” She sighed and took a hesitant look out one of the store’s

In a small office, two women wearing business suits were busy loudly talking to each other. “….Did you hear about that new moon pie they’ve been selling at that food vendor?” One of the women asked with a short bob cut said. “It’s called the Whoopie pie, and apparently it’s really good!” The other woman nodded. “Yeah, I had one yesterday and it tasted so amazing!” “You’ve eaten one? Aw, that’s not fair…” “We could always get one when we’re on break.” The other woman said. “Actually we should probably get tw—” The two fell silent as a short woman with wrinkles on her forehead stopped right in front of them. The woman had short, red hair that rested at the base of her neck. She was wearing black dress pants, a white dress shirt, black Mary Janes, and she had a black tie on. She also had a prominent bust size that made many of her female coworkers jealous and her male coworkers smitten. “Would you two be quiet!?” The woman hissed. “Some of us are trying to work!” As the woman

When I came home she had that look on her face, that look that told me she had good news, not kind of good, or interesting, but REALLY good news. Her lips were drawn in a line, her eyebrows were arched and her blue eyes danced with carefully held excitement, mirth, and joy. It was one of my favorite looks, and I loved coming home to her. "Looks like someone has good news," I said, setting my briefcase down on the table near the door. I was a mid-level administrator in a large insurance company in downtown Los Angeles. I made a decent living, when combined with Karyn's online business we earned a moderate level income to afford the three bedroom ranch style house in suburban LA. "How was your day?" She asked, practically bursting. I knew she was dying to tell me whatever-it-was, but always wanted to give me a chance to speak about my day first. It was because she loved me. "It was fine, hon. Tell me your news, I can practically see you peeing your panties over it." "I won the

Ryan was at his house, celebrating his 25th birthday. He opened his front door, noticing a large FedEx box by the doorstep. He picked up the box, taking it into his house. He closed the door. Ryan took out a box cutter, cutting the tape. He looked at the shipping label. "Asil Nospmis… who's that?" Ryan opened the box. Inside it was a large amount of bubble wrap and a piece of paper that was flipped around. He took out the paper and turned it. "Happy birthday! Play some funky tunes! - T.S." Ryan put the paper to the side. He removed the bubble wrap from the box. He gasped and smiled after seeing what was in the box. "Oh, hell yeah! Always wanted one of these!" The gift was a golden saxophone. Ryan took the instrument out of the box, looking at it all around. He blew into the mouthpiece, opening and closing the holes with his fingers. He began improvising various notes. Without him realizing it, Ryan's skin turned yellow. His brown hair also turned yellow, growing

“Psst…Mari!” “Mari, wake up!” Mari Tillermen groaned as she felt someone roughly shake her shoulder. She slowly lifted her head off her desk and glared at her best friend Kim, who was sheepishly smiling at her. The two of them were the only ones left in their classroom, as everyone else had gone out to do something else. “Why’d you wake me up?” Mari asked. She glanced up at the clock and frowned. “Class doesn’t start for another ten minutes.” “I know, but…” Kim trailed off and glanced around before continuing. “Did you hear about that bug that’s been going around?” Mari scoffed. “You mean that ‘Delinquent bug’ or whatever?” Kim nodded her head. “Yeah that! Half of the girls in our group have turned into delinquents, do you think we’re next!?” “Seriously Kim? You really believe that there’s a bug going around and turning people into delinquents?” Mari sighed. “I knew you were gullible, but I didn’t think you’d fall for such a dumb rumor.” “But Mari, I saw what happened to one

Lillie Vandervale growled as she searched through her closet for her dress. “I can’t believe it, where did it go!?” After being unable to find what she was searching for in her closet, the young girl moved to search through her cabinet. “It’s not here either!” Lillie shouted as she slammed her cabinet shut. “Emily!” Lillie marched out of her room and happened to pass by her bedroom mirror. Her mirror showed her appearance as a young teen who had long blonde hair, and she was wearing a green T-shirt, grey shorts, and black tennis shoes. Lillie barged into her younger sister’s room, startling her and the bat she had brought home from school. “Emily, have you seen my dress!?” Lillie shouted. “I need to get to the Halloween Party soo---” Lille’s words died in her throat when the bat swooped off the perch it was on and flew towards her in a blind panic. “Ow!” Lillie shouted as Emily’s bat scratched her finger. She grit her teeth when she noticed the blood dripping from her

Everyone wanted to go see Lumiose City at least once in their lives, right? At least, that was what Norami thought. As a Unova resident, he was no stranger to crowds of tourists gathering from regions near and far. He liked watching them stroll along the busy streets, helplessly lost as they attempted to orient themselves. The Alolans were always so laid back, the Galarians always so pretentious. And the Kalosians? They were always impeccably well-dressed. He’d seen photos of Kalos before, of course. Lumiose City was its crown jewel, a bustling, vibrant metropolis cleaved in twain by a shimmering blue canal. It was the uh, what did the Kalosians call it- the pièce de resistance? Yeah, that was it. And really, he couldn’t blame them. Even in photos the restaurants and their creations looked delicious, the boutiques so cute, and the Prism Tower? He had to go for that alone! So went he did, just him and his Poochyena. And then, because he was determined to take the scenic route to

What the Mask Is - Allister TF TG AR MC CM
It all happened because Kieros walked a different way that night. It wasn’t for any particular reason. Honestly, it might have been because she’d gotten distracted while exiting the restaurant- by what, Kieros couldn’t even recall. She was always the curious type, so it didn’t take much to draw her gaze to something other people might have otherwise disregarded. Truth be told, it might have just been something fluttering past the light of a street lamp, making a vague shape that Kieros thought could have been an animal. Hell, it could have been a lock of hair that fell too close to the eye holes of her mask. In the end, it didn’t really matter what it was. By the time she realized she was walking off in a different direction than the one she usually took to head back home, she knew that going back and taking her usual route would be too much of a hassle to warrant the walk back. While she didn’t know it like the back of her hand, per se, she knew her town well enough to know the
