NOTES

The story so far: In present time, Axer has been busy stealing Metroplex's Transmogrification Drive. But why does he want that specific piece of technology?

Original lineart..

Scorponok is featured here in his rarely-seen Cybertronian mode.

Scorponok's cybertronian mode was designed by Robby Musso for Spotlight: Ultra Magnus.

The events of this flashback take place before Spotlight: Ultra Magnus. Scorponok is wanted by the Tyrest Officers for sharing Cybertronian tech with other species.
And Ultra Magnus is one of those officers.

Scorponok has been going back and forth from his Sand-Araknoid mode.
Apparently, he picked it for the first time at the end of "Wrath of the Ages", when he made a deal with the Quintessons.

Scorponok has a penchant for meeting shady mechs in the desert, as seen in SoD: Starscream.

Axer is able to store his weapon in some dimensional hyper-cache, just like the A.E. Troopers of Wrath of the Ages. We wonder where he could have gotten that ability?

Axer is speaking as certain freelance peacekeeping agent, yes?

Yes, a reference to Dreamwave G1 Axer's bio, which was a tribute to Simon Furman's Death's Head.
A considering that "The Transmogrification Occurrence" is entirely based on Furman's work... things have come full circle!

A familiar tic, yes?
