Originally published as a Mosaic.

The title is a tribute to BattleStar Galactica (Season 1 Finale).

Read some of Magnus' notes: Arcee, Scorponok, the Duo-Drones.

Story based on Spotlight Flywheels by Simon Reeves.

Special cover: Hunters, featuring Magnus versus Arcee.

The alien girls are:
- a tribute to "The God Gambit (Season 2 of G1 cartoons);
- Klingon woman from Star Trek;
- Asoka Tano from Clone Wars Animated;
- Princess Leia from Star Wars (again).

The flashback sequence act as a prequel to "Spotlight: Arcee".

Jhiaxus and Nova Prime are the same characters of "Spotlight: Optimus Prime" and "Revelation". They disappeared with the First Ark, as told in "Spotlight: Galvatron".

The mech apparently killed by Arcee is Flywheels.

Model for Flywheels.

Magnus will experience a similar body upgrade, one day. He just doesn't know that he will become Ultra Magnus just in time for "War Within: The Age Of Wrath".

More of young Magnus' adventures in his SoD Magnus chapter.

"The Shape Of Things To Come" is part of is part of the collection of tales related to the Nova Prime age: see all of them (plus the amazing cover) in Special Story: The Evil That Mechs Do.

The saga continues in Short Story: The Beauty And The Beast, Short Story: The Answer, Constant Moons: Paradise Lost.

You know what? only now I noticed you mention the title is a BSG reference, I also have a story in mind with this name, but as a reference to the old "Shape of Things to Come" sci-fi book and movie [link] , wich I suppose is also the origin of the BSG episode title.

It's probably one of the most exploited title ever :D
Especially when it comes to the Fantastic Four :D

Cool story. I'd like to see the moment s/he regained consciousness and descended into madness ;)

It is a tempting idea.
Currently, there is one short story about Arcee arguing with Jhiaxus because she just cannot understand the "mating" concept :D

That could be the catalysis that makes Arcee psycho (or robo pms). Can't wait for the next one :D :D

LOL, robo pms :D

We need someone to redesign the other Females in War Within style...

oooooo, I like a challenge, mind if I have a go at designing a female bot?

That would be a most appreciated contribution!

Interesting window into the kind of mech Arcee would have been before Jhiaxxus got to him-->Her.

Thank you; I liked Spotlight: Arcee a lot, because of the (obvious?) metaphor about the violence that was forced on Arc. It's a topic that I'd never expected to see in a Transformers story (and actually IDW is now steering away from anything mature).

Thanks; we hope to do more about Arcee's "year one".

Nice tie in with Star Wars and Star Trek in the background in panel 4.

You can always count on that, when Simon's at work!
