Panel 1: more than two Moons, yes.
And one of them was like a small sun: this detail not only explains our daytime scenes in many of our SoD pages, but it's also the key element to Special Story: The Drought.

Panel 2: what are those falling comets, maybe Athena's warriors from Saint Seiya?
We wish, but the true influence are the "Protoform" meteors from Transformers The Movie 2007.

The oracle's words are another nod to Battlestar Galactica: it's the cycle of time, with events that are fated to repeat in the history of cosmos.

Panel 3: the security satellite which fails to see the Lunar starships has a robot mode.
He is most likely one of Cosmos' proto-kins (although Cosmos won't be born until long after the end of Nova Prime's age).
