NOTES

Celebrating 30 years of Transformers, Transformers: Seeds Of Deception presents the first three pages (of six) of a story dedicated to Metroplex, whose G1 incarnation is going to become the biggest Transformer toy ever in 2013.

"There Were Giants" is yet another SoD subplot: this one focuses on the Gestalts as they develop through the ages.
For a temporary conclusion to their saga, see: Short Story: Supreme Recall. As you might notice, War Within: The Dark Ages belongs to this saga.

The title of this story is a nod to Charles Dickens' "A Tale of Two Cities".

Each page is colored by a different SoD artist: page one features Tomoko's artwork. Tomoko brilliantly illustrated SoD: Starscream, SoD: Shockwave/Soundwave, SoD: Trannis and some Short Stories.

Kimia is a research space station, first mentioned by Nick Roche in AHM #15 and then featured in Last Stand Of The Wreckers.

The original Autobot Flame is a mad scientist from G1 Marvel UK comics (created by Simon Furman). In the SoD continuity, Flame lived long before the G1 era.

More than one Titan existed in Cybertron's distant past. See also the Predator King.

The Lawless Times concept was created by Juan Pablo Osorio for the Transformers: The Lost Seasons project.

A similar age took place in the Seeds Of Deception continuity, with different minor details.

The identity of the Hero of that age is revealed in the notes of Transformers: The Lost Seasons - "The Queen's Gambit" (a story that features more Lawless Times characters).

Bonus: Metroplex' city mode.

That's exactly the reference we had in mind!

Plus, as the Hero was developed for :icon-tf-the-lost-seasons:, other epic characters from the Earth mythology were referenced as well.
King Arthur, Merlin, Conan the Barbarian...we plan o reveal soon the identity of Merlin, in a story that will feature Flame and more Titans.

Wow. I didn't realize there were three different colorists for the three pages. WELL DONE, all. They hold together seamlessly. In my opinion, this page and page three are the strongest, color-wise, but only because they were the ones that made my jaw drop open. They are all GREAT.
Seriously: Epic Work.
