Oooo, you definitely don't want to tick off a dragon, particularly by attacking his best friend...!  Even if you could outrun that fire-breath, he's still got claws...!  And he can fly...!

:o (Eek)

Wow... this can make a panel in one heck of a comic. If you ever feel like drawing something to this effect, give me a call and I will be happy to write it for you!

I was thinking the same thing!  Would love to see what led up to this & what the aftermath was!  (Shoot, why the heck couldn't they do something cool like this on the show, instead of wasting so much time on that dopey "Friendship School" and the equally-lame characters that go with it?)

You certainly had that right. Would it not have been better? Then again, we are constantly being reminded that this is a show for children; not for the heartily-enthused folks like yours truly here ^_^

Well true, but then again I remember the stuff I liked when I was a kid & a lot of that was pretty dark, dramatic, exciting, and even intense by today's rather-lukewarm standards.  I enjoyed stuff like the great Disney Classics (Pinocchio, Snow White, Fantasia, Dumbo--the original, not the cheesy remake) or TV shows like Astroboy or Kimba the White Lion--the latter being a particularly noteworthy example--on that show, many episodes did not have a traditional happy ending.  Sometimes they were sad, characters got injured, sometimes they even died.  The situations  and the emotions of the characters involved frequently became quite intense, and the problems they encountered seemed insurmountable, yet they persevered.  Even today it still remains a great show, a true classic, yet one that was made with a child audience in mind, but which did not gloss over the more serious sides of life.  I've always believed (and this is a belief shared by none other than Lauren Faust herself) that children (both boys and girls) are actually a lot tougher, more-resilient & more capable of handing action, drama, and exciting adventure than adults generally give them credit for.  I personally tend to believe that overly-shielding kids from the more dramatic and/or unhappy sides of life really does them no favours, and instead leaves them largely unprepared to deal with the problems of life as they grow up.  And I've long believed that there was a great deal of potential for exciting adventures and dramatic stories to be told within the Ponyverse which, in the last several seasons, has mostly gone unexplored.

But...that's just this one curmudgeonly gargoyle's opinion...

(Speaking of which, too bad there aren't any gargoyles in the Ponyverse!  That would be cool to see...  "No, no, no!  We are not dragons!  We are Gargoyles!!  Totally different species!!")

They'd better hope the magic teleporty fire works on stuff other than scrolls.

I don't know. Getting teleported directly to Princess Celestia, right after you've hurt Twilight, might just make you wish it had been regular dragon fire.
