So I was a little off regarding my estimate of classes left to take so I can graduate.

With Painting III (yet again per my degree requirements) and Sculpture III this term, I'll have seven classes left to take!  That is still very close and if I get the classes I need on the schedule I want, I should graduate after Fall Term 2019!

I think my skills as an oil painter have significantly improved this school year.  While I didn't get any A grades on my homework paintings last term, my painting professor had positive things to say about my work and constructive critiques which helped me to work better.  But this Spring Term I've gotten three A grades in a row on my homework paintings!!  Obviously I'm doing something right!

So I started college yet again last week.  I literally have eight classes to take then I will graduate!  If I get the classes I need on the schedule that I want, I should graduate at the end of Spring Term 2019!  Woo hoo!

In between class assignments, I'm also doing some free World of Warcraft character portraits for friends.  I don't know if I'll post pictures of my oil paintings here (because I can only take somewhat crappy phone photos of them) or just stick to posting better quality scanned and digital art.  Stay tuned for more to come!

I've seen others self publish and sell books of their work and lately I've been wondering if I should give that a try too.  When I asked my Figure Drawing Professor what I could improve upon, she told me I have my own style and she didn't think I need help there and that I should simply work on refining my skills at figure drawing and try to work outside my comfort zone.

Do I really have my own style?  For the past few years I've felt like I didn't have a style of my own.  Am I not seeing the forest for the trees?

I think environments are outside my comfort zone and something I should definitely work on.  I'll dig back through my collections of tutorials and see what I can do to challenge myself in that area.

But back to the subject of this journal... Should I self publish an art book? Would people be interested in buying a collection of my original sketches and completed work?  I would definitely work on including things which are not posted anywhere on the Internet.  Thoughts?  Suggestions?

So a few friends and I are going to be putting together a calendar of our hot man characters in WoW.  Once I get this final exam painting tone, I will be burning up Photoshop working on sexy guys!

I'm also getting close to 50,000 page views!  :wow:  So I'm offering a kiriban to the first person to screenshot it and show it to me.  The kiriban must meet my usual commission requirements (no yellow, brown, Roman, vore, excessive gore, guro or shota).  I'm yaoi, yuri and hentai friendly and have accounts on other sites where adult art can be posted.  You will be e-mailed a full resolution copy but I retain the right to display the art in perpetuity in any medium existing or not yet invented.  If the commission is an original character, you'll also receive 100x100 pixel and 80x80 pixel avatar images for use online.

We're six months away from MOBICON XV and I'm so busy I don't know which way I'm coming or going!

We were at CONtraflow I in New Orleans, LA the first weekend of November and at the Mobile Renaissance Festival last weekend.  I've been burning up the phone lines and interwebz making contacts with various people regarding advertising MOBICON.  I'm looking forward  to another wonderful convention year and can't wait for it to get here!

The Merchant Room is pretty much sold out and the Art Show isn't far behind.  I'm not entering the Art Show again this year since I'm doing so much already and I don't think I'll have time to prep for it properly.  Also, I'm at an artistic plateau and I need to grow a bit more.  It's good for me to take a few years off from the Art Show then come back with a bang!

We'll be at New Orleans ComicCon in January and Coast Con in March.  Stop by and visit us!  Look for the MOBICON fan group.

Ok I was tagged by :iconjanunnoart: and now I have to follow the rules of the game and tell you all 10 things about myself!

Here are rules:
*You must post these rules.
*Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.
*You have to choose and tag 10 people and post their icons on the same journal.
*Go to their pages and tell them you tagged them.
*No tag backs!

Some people may know some of these things and some may not.  Hopefully I don't bore y'all too much!

1.  I have five tattoos but you can't see any of them unless I'm in a bathing suit or bikini.

2.  I was in the Navy for six years, six months and 14 days as a Builder in the SeaBees.  I made E5 before my three year mark.

3.  I'm an epicurean.  I love trying new foods and cooking interesting dishes.  While I won't go as far as Andrew Zimmern, I have eaten some things that most Americans either haven't or wouldn't such as chocolate covered ants, candied locusts and dog.

4.  I have five cats and a dog.  The dog is a 95 LB Rottweiler and she is trained to be my service and mobility assistance dog.

5.  I don't like horror movies ("Nightmare on Elm Street").  They give me nightmares.  But I do like suspense movies ("Silence of the Lambs").

6.  I've been an avid reader ever since I can remember and I've probably read more than 1,200 books in my life thus far (average four books a month from the age of 10 though I was reading earlier than that).

7.  I've been a radio DJ both in and out of the Navy.  I can work a manual board or computerized system.

8.  My favorite color is blue.  When I was a child my room was painted a hideous shade of pastel pink and I hated it.

9.  I've been gaming since I was 10 years old.  Started with the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Boxed set (the red box) when I saw it on a shelf at the book store.  I was enthralled with the art (Larry Elmore) and just HAD to have that box.  That was also the start of my dream to become a professional artist.  I've had the pleasure of meeting Larry Elmore on several occasions and letting him know he was the inspiration for all my artistic endeavors.

10.  I'm a published artist and journalist.  My art was published in the comic book "Edge of Evil" (#1) and my journalism was published on Adak, AK (base newspaper), Port Hueneme, CA (base and local newspapers for Port Hueneme and Oxnard, CA), and Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico (base paper).  I've also worked as a freelance copy editor.

And the people I tag are...
