THE COAST WAY
Auraxian and Imoen were well underway before Tarnesh knew they were gone. Slipping past the gate tailing another group of merchants, shrouded in plain cloaks, he was hoping to slip out of the keep both before his debts to Gallena as well as his trouble with Tarnesh caught up to him. After slipping past the gate guard, the two passed up the merchants as they started down the Coast Way; by midday they had made the obelisk that marked the intersection between the Lion's Way and the Coast Way.
Auraxian stopped there, and looked longingly back down the Lion's Way; in the noon haze it was too distant and obscure to make out, but he knew it was down there, at the end of the road: Candlekeep. Everything he'd ever known and loved, now locked behind an implacable iron gate and the cruel will of the Keeper.
