Does your dream come through the gates of horn or ivory?
The Oneiroi are the black-winged spirits of dream, born of Nyx (night) and brethren to Hypnos and Thanatos (sleep and death). Each night they emerge from darkness to rest upon the living as they slumber, and as they emerged, they passed through one of two gates. Oneiroi that passed through the gates of horn would bring dreams of prophecy, of truth. However, if the Oneiroi passed through the gates of ivory, they brought dreams of deceit, dreams without meaning.
My work is both a portrayal of dream-world imagery and a study of the psychological, sociological, and philosophical impacts thereof.
