Fly-by Shooting

I may as well admit that I find it very challenging to get decent shots of Killdeers in flight, so when I do get one that is postable, I am a happy camper indeed.  I love their eyes, which nevertheless seem as permanently dilated in alarm as their frantic cries whenever one comes anywhere near their nesting grounds.  They have the best Neighborhood Watch Organization of any bird I know; one never sneaks up on a Killdeer!    This one was photographed in the South Park Wildlife Management Area in Jackson, WY.
