FFWW - Texturing Orbit Traps
FFWW - Isolating and Texturing Orbit Traps.
Below you will find the text we worked through during the workshop. Enjoy
**Please do not post this on other sites without my express written permission. You have my thanks!**
Hi everyone! Today we are going to be covering Isolating Orbit Traps and adding textures to orbit traps.
If everyone has Ultra Fractal open, we can get started.
The first type of trap we will learn is a basic point trap over a standard julia set.
Please paste the following fractal into ultra fractal.
Fractal2 {

  caption="Background" opacity=100
  center=0/0 magn=1
  maxiter=250 filename="Standard.ufm" entry="Julia" p_seed=0.5/0
  p_power=2/0 p_bailout=128
  transfer=linear filename="Standard.ucl" entry="Smooth" p_power=2/0

How To Use Ducky Lite
Way back in early 2013 Ed Algra wrote to me and asked if I would like to try out his new formula the then unpublished "Lucky". I explained to him that I had only been working in UF for a few months but would willingly help if I could. The formula used here for this tutorial is an earlier one of his and has less variables. As such it is easier to use and more intuitive. Several people have asked me "What is a Ducky?" The easiest explanation is that it is a formula designed to make use of the black area or "inside" of the mandelbrot.
1. Go to ea.ufm and open Ducky Revisted J. If it isn't already then set it to Ducky Lite from the mode drop down menu. It will look like this
2. Now go to the inside tab and find Lyapunov in dmj.ucl.  Click on that and It will now look like this

3.We will need to zoom in. To zoom in hold down shift and drag with the left mouse button. Centre it by hol

Tutorial for Plane Curve Traps II
This tutorial is for
designed with new users in mind.
I am assuming you understand the layout otherwise I would recommend reading through the comprehensive instruction manual, written by Janet Parke, which comes with all downloads.  Please note this software is not free.
To begin then we will find a nice Julia. With the default Mandelbrot in your work space click switch mode or hit F7. Move your cursor around the outside and when you find something you like left click and it will open in a new window.  Once you have found one you like hold down shift and zoom with the left mouse button to find a close up spiral.

Notes you can make loads of these and drag them on top of each other then save with a name like Different Julias. Black area is inside so try to make a julia with no black in it.
If you want to start with the one I am using then copy and paste everything from

Basics of Colour - for Ultra Fractal
Looking at  parameters, both from DA and Ultra Fractal Mailing list I have noticed a lack of understanding as to how colours interact. So I have decided to write a few helpful hints.
1)  The Colour Wheel -
All colours can be made from just three. Blue, Red and Yellow - for instance if you mix Blue and Red you get Purple, Red and Yellow make orange etc. Blue Red and Yellow are called primaries. Purple, Green and Orange are called Secondaries and Tertiaries are  combinations of two of these
 Basics of Colour - The Colour Wheel (just click on thumbnail for parameter file)

RGB - Red Green and Blue relates to the colours that are mixed by an imaging device (TV screen, Monitor, Digital Camera) to produce an image
CYMK- Cyan (Blue) Magenta (Red) Yellow and Black refers to the colours that a printer's inks

*gg* meine Current Residence ist auch Germany :)

Hey - POV-Ray? :omg: Damit wollte ich schon seit Langem etwas machen. :)
terforpova Featured By Owner Aug 11, 2014
RockBarnes Featured By Owner Edited Aug 12, 2014

PovRay-Papst :) .  Frage ihn doch mal.
