Once thought to be a pterosaur, it turned out that the holotype fossil is a mix between both, the pterosaur was renamed into istiodactylus, while ornithodesmus is the name for the dinosaur. Bakker mentioned this species in Raptor Red, as a pterosaur. Funny that it actually turned out to be a raptor itself!
