Thanks for the watch!
No problem, I'm a huge Star Trek fan and even currently working on my own ship, though I have no skill in 3D modeling, sadly. I'm having to kitbash the ship together in a program not really designed for it. But hey, that's a proud Star Trek Tradition.
I am curious where you get your models, or if you make them yourself. They have lots of tasty parts ripe for kitbashing ![]()
Oooh, I hope I get the chance to see your design. I started out kitbashing models, myself. As you say, it is a tradition. Whilst I still do kitbash on occasion (most of my Picard Era ships are a kitbash. I tend to make sure I mention the original in the description when I do this), I mainly make them myself. I started off with no skill but slowly figured things out over time.
What program are you using to kitbash, by the way? I use multiple programs for my models, but Blender and Milkshape are the main ones
Maybe I'll post it here in the next few days. I'm still working on a few things. but I can maybe render up a Beauty Shot and the Orthos. I have been sharing the ship over on reddit. She's a smallish ship, a little shorter than an Intrepid, and TNG-era. USS Baikonur.
I've been using Daz Studio, using models people have made for Daz or converted, or even just importing .objs and cutting them up. I've tried several times over the years to learn 3D programs, but just something makes it so I can't wrap my brain around it, so I make do. I wish I could model her properly though, there's a few changes I'd make.
And now Your Watch begins! Thanks for the interest, and for enduring my cheesy GoT references. Hope you find something to inspire or to use in your tabletop games!
Thank you for the watch!
figured I use so many of your Daz items I should follow!
