Turns out that with help from a new acquaintance I will be selling calligraphy at Fanime!
Fanime is the local anime/video game convention in San Jose, CA, held every Memorial Day weekend. Can't afford full registration? You can get day passes. Check out the official website for more info: http://www.fanime.com/
Kimonomomo (http://www.kimonomomo.com) offered a small section of her table at the Fanime dealer's room. She has beautiful kimono and traditional Japanese accessories.
Personally I will be attending the con on Saturday supporting friends at Artist Alley.

See you this weekend!
I've been thinking about getting a seller's permit to sell my stuff at craft fairs and conventions. I think what's holding me back is finding time to create enough inventory. Having a full time job makes selling, even on the weekends, much more complicated as far as logistics.
Can you tell I'm really looking forward to Bioshock 2?
Moving along. My New Year's resolution is to do Japanese calligraphy every week. Even if it's just to write something silly. So if you have an idea floating in your head on a word or phrase you've always wanted to see in formal calligraphy, just let me know. Just remember that things like LOL are a little more difficult to interpret.
(LOL is translated into the letter W in Japanese. So going LOLOLOL is like seeing a string of wwWWWwwww in Japanese. Don't ask me why W is equated to LOL, it just is.)
