So, if you haven't heard from their own journals, a couple friends of mine (
) are attempting to do some fundraising this weekend.
This is because, for many reasons, the bottom has pretty much fallen out from under me and my girlfriend over the last couple weeks, including but not limited to:
Her having sudden black-out fainting spells. We think they're blood pressure related but not sure because we cant afford to see a doctor and are on the waiting list for a low income clinic. The first spell she had with them was so severe after passing out at work she more or less had to spend two days bed/couch-ridden.
The day after that her grandfather died and we took it upon ourselves to make it for the funeral because it was one of the few family member she has good history with.
Same day we found out her sister (who has been nearby her whole life and she more or less raised) was moving hundreds of miles away within two weeks.
And that SAME night we got a call from our room-mate, who was out at his parents, informing us not only was he not going to resign the lease with us, but his parents would be coming up the next day to bring his stuff home. This after he left the day before to discuss the possibility of him resigning or not resigning the lease with us with his parents.
Couple days later me and a friend are working on her computer to try and fix it, which has been dead for about a month, before it became obvious it wasn't a simple thing like the power supply that was dead, but the motherboard at least, if not the processor as well.
All of that sucked, yes. but we knew we had tax returns coming fairly soon that would let us help plug the gap of the increase in rent the two of us would need to cover, at least for a bit for us to come up with some other solutions and possibly even keep us afloat for the next 6 months until a likely change in lifestyle we've been working towards would be able to happen.
Then we found out last week that her return would be much smaller than we thought, and that I wasn't getting ANY.
This means at the end of march we'll be horribly broke, quite possibly medical bills hanging over us, the support structure we've had in place for years is gone now and there is a good chance we might end up kicked out of the apartment if some sort of solution isn't found. After talking with, among other people, my friend listed up above, we decided to attempt some online art-for-money fundraising this weekend this month and again sometime next month, to try and raise enough to at least help with the expect severe shortfall and possibly plug the gap so keep us in house, home and health.
I thank you for your time in reading this, any and all donations that might be given, and please, read the recent journals for my friends as the details of what each is doing will be there.
