The current state of social media and art community platforms has been on my mind lately. What in the past was my daily routine - to check what new exciting art folks made, is no longer there. I loved the good old days on Deviantart, where we were able to post randomly every couple of weeks or months, and people were interested and curious, and helpful. Art felt like that kind of struggle, that is frustrating, and annoying, but when you were getting better and more ambitious with your images, then there was some sort of pay out = people did pay attention. Social media turned art creation into something small, bite sized, simple and easily accessible and easily discarded. Now the volume of work, not its quality - was important. And then, it was not about the volume of work, but about the process. You had to document the process, put that camera up. Don't forget the b-roll! And then, it became about personality, and how much of your personal life trivia you are willing to overshare
