The time when my world collapsed, you pulled me into the void, and I agreed. To follow you, even if I didn’t trust you. Even if your shadows petrified me and your night seemed cruel. I believed you were darkness, vile and unpredictable. I wanted to believe in it. It was my anchor to reality, my safety cocoon. Otherwise, I would have to deal with the warmth under my skin, when you looked at me. With the shivers that crept over me, when my eyes caught a glimpse of your face or my ears heard the alluring voice of yours. My mind screamed danger, separating me from you with hatred. Blaming you for the darkest day of my life, taking you hostage to my fears. My heart though… perceived your danger tempting, a secret to delve in, a mystery to soak with. Now, I know that anger was not an answer. That one doesn’t need to be scared of the unknown. That I should be hearing my soul speaking to me, that there is more to you that meets an eye.
