I'm working on a project called Atlas Altera. Altera is a world of alternate history in epic proportions. This is not your average irredentist fantasy—far from it. Here, the counter-factual "What if?" is used as a creative device to maximize multiplicity and diversity in the story of humankind, all the while allowing for the story to keep with the general trends and themes of history.
My goal is to produce monthly beautiful map plates accompanied by chorographical narratives and discussion videos covering every corner of Altera, and in doing so, explore the diversity of our own world, a diversity which is so often hidden under the surface due to the type of knowledges privileged in modernity. Each month's content will be dispersed in weekly posts on the site.

Will you ever post more Atlas Altera videos on youtube? They were pretty interesting to watch
Hey! Thanks for asking. The short answer is, yes! In fact, we're cooking up a potential video in the very near future...
The long answer is, I have a series of maps and associated videos that are now in the pipeline for development, but my life has been thrown off kilter with some personal issues lately. That means I had to slow down on producing content for the project. Though I am no longer able to promise the same kinds of turnaround time, I am determined to continue churning out both maps and accompanying videos for the foreseeable future.

How is the enviroment in Altera compared to our world?
I like to imagine that it's "better" in that global warming is coming on more slowly or being tackled a lot better. For example, a similar Oil Crisis happens in ATL, with the major disruption leading to a lot more parts of the world throwing themselves at renewables (i.e. many states in Sumatrea developing geothermal, and appropriate areas going for solar and wind), as well as the foresight to develop alternative energy grid systems or large energy storage/battery technologies instead of just lithium-based ones...
Invasive pests and environmental disasters are also under more "control"... If you see this map, there are a lot of environmental stewardship or renewable initiatives
Interesting.
Aside for the Mammoth, are there other animals that went extinct because of Humans that manage to survived in Altera?
Yeah there are a few that we've speculated. The thylacine, for example, is featured in the flauna map as a decorative corner art.
