Yes it is completely CG, not a photo, some people genuinely can't tell! :D

Fire vs Water
Earth vs Sky

A little borderline surrealism for your viewing enjoyment.

This idea was inspired by a conversation I was having at work, where I discovered one of my colleagues shared my fascination with playing with the fundamental _rules_ of our world (a topic I've explored in many of my previous pictures, e.g. A cube shaped planet, large rocks floating in the air). Anyway, this got me thinking about these ideas and that lead to this idea for a representation of the 4 classical elements and how they oppose one-another.

The image was put together in 10 days of my spare time (for the IRTC which usually allows 2 months creation time, but I was very late starting!).

Technical details can be found in the original submission to the IRTC: [link]

This is so amazing, I wish I could fave it a million times over. this needs a daily deviation. The chromatic aberration is beautiful. the composition is amazing, and this deserved more than 3 faves. I do 3D graphics myself, and I could never even dream of making something like this.

Thanks! It's the most elaborate & slow-rendering water effect I've ever done, I won't bore you with the details! B-)
