Proud of our boy by TedJohansson Proud of our boy by TedJohansson
This December it's 70 years since Carl Barks' "Christmas on Bear Mountain", the first comic with Scrooge McDuck, was published.

When I met Don Rosa in Copenhagen last month I gave him a new tribute drawing. A drawing that celebrates the 70th anniversary of my favorite fictional character. I had many ideas for motives but in the end I decided to do an idea I have had for quite some time. This felt like the right opportunity to do it. I was very happy when Don said that he thought the drawing was very sweet. He also asked me to sign it, so at the bottom of the print I wrote "FOR DON - MY INSPIRATION! TED 2017".

The drawing is really nice ! As always you showed your ability for illustration (I mean that you know how to summarize the feelings and universe of a character in a single drawing) and it seems to me that you are only a step away from becoming a real duck artist (with the invitation to Rum för serier that's pretty suggestive^^) ! Good luck with that, I'm sure you'll do stories in a way close of the ducks' spirit !

Thank you very much for your support, Anthony! :) I'm honored! I hope you're right. To become a professional Donald Duck artist would be a dream come true for me. In the meantime, I will continue to practise.

Yeah practise is the best way to improve ! I heard that Disney doesn't take professionals, but you're already a professional Bamse artist, don't you ?

You can't mean that Disney isn't interested in professionals. I think only a few artists have started their professional career drawing Disney comics. Most of them have done other professional work before. It's correct that I'm a professional comic artist for Bamse. So I already work for Swedish Egmont.
Have a nice day!
