Remembering Tim Curry

Tim Curry was never the same thing twice. Hilarious whether swashbuckling with Muppets or running around a mansion, he dove into every role with the utmost seriousness, no matter how ridiculous the scene around him. He could be terrifying as Pennywise and smashing as Nigel Thornberry. And, of course, he was well-known for his deviant role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter. 

What made Tim Curry extraordinary was commitment. Every role, no matter how campy or sinister or absurd, got the full force of his talent and presence. Curry's philosophy of throwing oneself into their work with total conviction and zero apology is something any artist can recognize, and the world is a little less theatrical without him.
