I finally have a drawing in mind for the tea staining effect. only thing i dont get is how to paint over it...once you have your design ill probably just play around with it lol

My professor was showing us works from his former professors he trained under, and one work in particular had a tea stained background. It had a really neat grungy effect, so I wanted to try it :3 Its really easy. You just have to seep a few tea bags in a cup, soak the sheet of paper in the water in a pan to get a coat, and then open the tea bags all over the paper surface and let dry for a day or two.

This one I did twice because the first time I didn't do it properly. Another piece of paper that I stained has the same light and darkness on it and I only did it once with the same tea. When you break open the packets and spread out the grains, it naturally darkens in some spots where its heavier and its lighter in spots where the tea doesn't sit.
