Copic marker and colored pencil on paper
2014

This one was a commission taken by my alter ego at GenCon.  Sort of.  Basically, I took a multi-character commission that I just couldn't make work, so, so make up for it, I offered to do a single character, full-color T.Catt pinup for the same price.  The client specifically asked for 1970's Supergirl, with these particular features (round face, dimples), in order to match the version of Supergirl that appears as an NPC in a 1971 DC Comics RPG he plays in.  Makes sense, right?  Anyway, I tried to capture the feel of an early 70's pinup with this one, including the wood-panaled wall and orange/tan bed sheets.  Her "Farrah hair" might be anachronistic by a few years, but it's so iconic 70's, and close enough to Supergirl's actual hairstyle at the time, that I just had to include it.  And, of course, it's not the 70's without a little 70's bush.  :-)

Wow, just ran past this again (must have left it in my watchlist because I meant to comment on it).

It looks great. Nice clean classic pin-up work. Love the body, the shades in the clothing and the hair.
The right nipple seems to high on the breast at first glance, but I'm not sure, and breasts are never 100% symmetrical anyway.
She also seems a bit cross-eyed. Is this intentional? You usually draw such beautiful eyes. On second thought, it might be the right eyebrow that seems to far to the right. Knowing your work, it couldn't be the eyes.

A real shame you haven't done more of this kind of projects lately, but thats what happens when work and personal life get in the way of good clean fun art.Wink/Razz

You're not wrong about the eyes.  It happens sometimes.

Not often though, you are usually dead on on those. (probably why I noticed).

I love the whole '70s look you did with this. The only issue I have is that the carpet doesn't match the drapes, but that is only a minor issue.

Hey, that's pretty tame for the 70s.  It's not crawling up to her navel and she likely could only store really small things in it:  her car keys (for key-parties), her fake ID (for getting into discos), maybe an extra can of hairspray.

Quite a versatile bit of fur she's got there.  I'm suddenly reminded of that old late-70's cartoon "The Super Globetrotters", with the Harlem Globetrotters players who turned into bizarre superheroes - one was a hero who had a gigantic afro from which could be pulled any number of random usually-helpful objects...

Worth every penny, especially if it results in more Catt-sterpieces.
