Velocity (20th Anniversary Edition)
Copic marker and colored pencil on paper
2016

In October of 1996, I received my first real computer (a PowerMac 7500/100) as a birthday present, and went online for the first time.  A few weeks later, I drew and posted my first three "comerotica" pinups, Supergirl, Invisible Woman, and Velocity, representing the "Big Three"of the 90's, DC, Marvel, and Image Comics, to the Usenet.  Within minutes of making my post (which also included three lesbian scenes), I received my first response: "T.Catt has entered the building!"

20 years later, I'm still (occasionally) drawing and posting sexy pinups featuring characters from comics, cartoons, and more, only now I'm a LOT better at it!  To demonstrate how far I've come, I've decided to revisit my first three subjects and give them the T.Catt treatment once again.  This is just my way of thanking you, my loyal fans, for still being at my side after two decades, and still driving me to create new, sexy art, and, in turn, improving my craft.  Who know?  Maybe I'll still be doing this in another 20 years, and I can draw these three characters again.  Heck, I'll only be 64!

Until, good reader, I leave you with this: T.Catt is still in the building!

Be sure to check out my other 20th Anniversary pics!

Thanks.  This character barely exists anymore so I didn't have a lot to work with.  Glad I was able to give her some personality.

True. There was a Cyberforce reboot a few years back, but I guess that failed. So many early years Image characters have disappeared.

The reboot was a free series paid for through Kickstarter.  It was okay, but really failed to capture the feel of the characters.

I agree. It didn't feel like Cyberforce at all.

It's all in the details you always work into the pieces.

The pose and your fashion sense.

Of course Erotic Earth is impressive about removing bits but, much like these anniversary pieces, the real stars is how you incorporate identity with the costumes.

The skirt nature of Supergirl's cape. The layered use of Invisible Woman's suit. The zipper and trim of Velocity's costume.

You've always been great at realizing those Devil Details and that's what has always brought me back as a fan.

Thanks!  Yeah, the costumes tend to be more real when you show the characters taking them off than they seem to be when they're wearing them.  That ends up begging for those kinds of details.

I can't believe that it's been 20 years sir.  You've come quite a long way as an artist, and I've always loved your art, but your new stuff, WOW, truly superb.  As the man who introduced me to superhero hentai/erotic/34 all those years ago, I'd just like to say thanks, and don't you ever stop ;)

One day, I suspect I won't have a choice, but until then, you can expect to see more smut from me.  Occasionally.

Thanks!  Yeah, I miss her.  She was the best thing to come out of Image if you ask me.  Well, her and Witchblade.

Oh, right, I forgot about Gen13.  Yeah, Gen13 was the best thing to come out of Image.  Velocity was the best thing to come out of Top Cow, after Witchblade.

She did get a little bit of a resurgence thanks to Ken Rocafort's work with her a few years back, so some people still love her.

Yeah, I think that's the series I based this piece on.  It was pretty great.  The free Kickstarter reboot series?  Not so much.

20 years?!  Holy shit I can't believe it's been that long!  I remember first running across your pics about then and instantly loving them.  Granted that's because I was a horny teenager at the time.  Now I'm a horny adult that STILL love your pics!  They've just gotten better with time!  You know, I might actually still have some of those pics around somewhere.  Mmmm....

Also it means we got online about the same time.  Pretty cool.

I plan on posting all of my non-explicit work here and all of my explicit work on Hentai Foundry.  Between the two sites, you should be able to collect everything.  Always happy to hear from someone who remembers the good old days.  :-)

Indeed I do.  Can't remember how I found your stuff but obviously it was WAY before Google was a thing!

InfoSeek was the browser of the day, as I recall.  I posted exclusively to the Usenet until I got my own website sometime around '97 or '98.  Eventually, I was forced to abandon the newsgroups and move to the email-based Yahoo Groups.  Facebook killed those.

I think I found your original site.  I do remember the one before the Catthouse.  You've bounced around from quite a few of them, haven't you?

Three, I think.  Maybe four.  They all had the same basic address, though (tcatt.com or tcatt.net).  The only reason its down now is because the site's host shut down and the program I used to create my sites (Adobe GoLive) won't run on my Mac anymore.  I don't really need a website at this point anyway.  Social media sites like this one have really ended the need for folks like me to maintain their own websites.

Definitely.  As I recall, they were one of the first do-it-yourself-website providers.  Aren't they technically still around?

Ugh.  I'm so old.  Velocity is the youngest member of Cyber Force, one of the founding books of Image Comics (along with Spawn, Wild C.A.T.s, and Youngblood).  She was created in 1991 by Marc Silvestri of Top Cow.  Top Cow parted ways with Image a number of years ago and still occasionally self-publishes Cyber Force related books.  Velocity got a really good limited series a few years ago, which is what this is based on, then appeared again in the free, Kickstarter-backed Cyber Force reboot (which wasn't very good, unfortunately).  She's a cyber-enhanced speedster.  While maybe not the central female character from the early united Image universe, she was my favorite at the time, which is why I chose to draw her.
