Dear Diary

Dear diary,


Today I'm going to the Everfree Forest. It has been over a year since my accident, and I became what I am today. I know mommy and daddy still love me, but I feel that they worry too much about my condition. I don’t want them to worry, I try to tell them that I will be ok, but I don’t think they believe me. We’ve had several unicorns and doctors over our house to look at me, they are really nice! I like when they give me treats! For some reason, nopony believes I can still eat. I tried to convince mommy that eating cauliflowers made me spring leaks and deflate, but she didn’t buy it. She just closed my hip valves and threatened to hook me up to the vacuum cleaner if I told more fibs.

But then they talk with mommy and daddy things they do not tell me and mommy and daddy are sad. I keep hearing them, say something about a curse?

Did I do something wrong?

I don’t want mommy and daddy to be sad. I need to fix myself. I heard there is a weird pony in the Forest that might be able to lift the curse I have. They have a weird name, something that begins with a Z. I’m gonna pack my saddlebags with food, extra patches, my pump, and my allowance for the last two months. Maybe I can find that pony and get cured?


Dear diary, I made it to the forest today. I am looking for a weird pony, and I think I found him! His name began with a Z and everything! He definitely isn’t a pony, he’s a, thing? I dunno, I’ve never seen anything like him before. He says there is a fountain that might remove my curse, but that I need to win a contest to get to it? I asked him why, and he used a lot of big words that I did not understand.

I asked him if I could join and he laughed at me. That wasn’t nice! He mentioned something about eating. I said that I was really good at eating contests, but that made him laugh some more. That made me feel real bad. I think I felt like crying. He stopped laughing and mentioned something about quotas. If I could beat him in a game of tag I could join!



Then the big meanie popped my mane! How rude can you be?!? I didn’t even get a chance to warn him before he dashed off.

Some ponies think that I am slow because of what I am, but I always surprise them! I’ve learned how to use my body the way it is, and what my limitations are. Especially, being careful of sharps. He didn’t know that because I found him snagged in a locust tree, those things are full of sharps! Even when I was still flesh, I had to be careful near them! I should have sucked the rest of his air out to reinflate my mane, then folded him up and put him in my saddlebags to teach him to be nicer to ponies!

I don’t think mommy would have approved, so instead I used the spray bottle they use to remove my curse from those who touch the air in my mane and tail.

So I won the game of tag, I’m gonna be in a bigger game if I play good, I’m gonna be a regular filly again and make mommy and daddy happy!
