Leaving the past behind, is one of the hardest task in everyone’s life. Seeing a bright future isn’t something that Carrie White could imagine for herself. With her powers of destruction, she could never imagine a place for her, where she can live a life in peace. After her house was destroyed and her mother buried underneath, she took the last bit of money they had and booked a last minute ticket to Transylvania. There, she thought, is where see belong… a place where monsters live, just like her.
While she was on her way, she made some research on the internet, finding a Hotel…just for monsters. Her interest grew, as she discovered its destination. It was as far away as possible from human society. The last thing she wants is to get involved with humans. Her fear of killing them by fear was too great.
Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on her side. She asked for this hotel by a local shop in Transylvania, only to get two guys, hoping for a good time. Carrie noticed it immediately, but didn’t refuse the offer to get a lift to this place. Once they reached a dark forest, they stopped the car and tried to have their way with his new victim. It didn’t take long, as one was squished by a tree and the other impaled on a branch. Since they were in the forest, no one would find out about this. With a coat from the men, she made her way through the forest on her own…arriving at the huge hotel.
There was no doubt about it; this was `Hotel Transylvania´.
At the front of the huge castle, she could see all kinds of monsters, wearing suitcases. Inside was it no different…it was flooded with monsters, not a single human in sight. Well…there was one and he came towards her, “Welcome Lady, I am Jonathan the assistant from Dracula, the human-relation coordinator.” Carrie became uncomfortable. Please not anymore humans, she thought. Jonny got concerned at her feared look, “Don’t worry, you will love it here!” He motioned her to follow him to the reception. Behind it, stood Dracula, looking behind his new guest, “Welcome, what can I do for you young lady?”
“A…room”, she mumbled.
Unlike Jonny, Drac heard her loud and clear, “Certainly, for how long would you like to stay?”
“A…week?” she said, shaking a little.
“Don’t need to be frightened, we haven’t hurt humans for centuries. So a week you say?” he grabbed her key from the wall, dropping it into her slender fingers, “Here you go, enjoy yours stay.”
With a quiet ´thank you´, she ran towards the nearest elevator. From the distance, Jonny and Drac looked after her, wondering what could have happened to her.
Carrie found her room fast, locking herself in. She went over to the bed and began to pray…for her…her mother…her curse. “Please forgive me Father, for I have sinned…I…”
The sound made her tens up in fear. But her powers had their own ways and slammed the door open…revealing a confused Count Dracula, still in the position to knock on her door. “Hi there, I was wondering if you are feeling alright.” “I…am fine” she mumbled, backing away from the vampire.
“Are you sure?” he began, getting closer.
“I…AM!” she said, now louder. At that moment, the windows were shut as well as the door behind the vampire. “My, it I quite drafty in here” he chuckled, opening the windows with his powers. Carrie…was amazed, “you can do this too?”
“What do you mean…´do this too´?”
Carrie looked at the book shelf, as all one book flew out, towards her bed, “…this.”
Not it was Drac´s turn to be amazed, “I wasn’t aware that humans can do such a thing.”
“This it…telekinesis, not may humans can do this”
“So you are one of the lucky ones?”
Ouch, this hurt Carrie. If there is one thing she couldn’t say about her power, than there is nothing lucky about it. But she stayed silent, just nodding in response. The count was asking her if she would like to come to the pool later on. Unfortunately, Dracula didn’t give her a second to refuse; as he left without an answer….assuming that she will come. Carrie went towards the bath room, looking inside the mirror now, remembering all that had happened in the past…hearing her mother.
“They will all laugh at you!”
The entire mirror broke into several pieces. Carrie was frightened. She crawled to the nearest corner of the room, and cried out.
In the meantime, Drac arrived at the pool. He informed everyone about the new guest, that will arrive shortly…and also about her special powers. Jonny was blown away, “Telekinesis…her? COOOL!!!!!!” But Drac seem to have noticed it, “You might find it cool, but she seems to be frightened of it.”
“It can’t be that bad Drac” reassured Jonny.
It didn’t take long, as Carrie arrived at the pool. Drac noticed her first, walking over to her, “wonderful you came eh…I am sorry I forgot to ask for your name.”
“Well then, welcome Carrie. We been expecting you” he said, pushing her towards his friends. He introduced her, one after another. She never felt so…accepted before. Everyone was nice to her; it was a different kind of ´nice´ to her. Later on, they were all inside the pool, playing monster ball. It all went well, until Frank gave his master hit of destruction. It was aimed for Drac, but the ball of fire had a mind of his own, heading toward her instead. Before anyone could stop it, Carried had waved with her hand. The ball stopped an inch away from her face, heading toward the buffet nearby, burning it all into ashes.
All eyes were now on her.
As Drac tired to touch her shoulder, she pulled away ad ran off into her room. Mavis was confused, as well as everybody else, “Dad, what happened just now?”
“I am not sure honey bat…or could it be?”
“What could be, dad?”
“Are her powers the cause of this?” whatever it was, Drac decided to give her some space, for the time being.
Carrie was already in her room now, cowering in the corner. She had hoped to find a place where she could live and now, she messed it up…again. Lost in thoughts, she began to beg for her mother, to come back to her, to hug her, “Please mom, come back to me…I need you.”
The next few days, Drac had tired another approach.
He noticed her shy attitude and gave it all he can to get her out of her shell. It wasn’t without any danger, as Carrie threw a few pieces of the mirror at Drac. It was an accident, for Drac was it nothing but a scratch, but too her it was her worst fear. Carrie was scared that she had killed the count. And this time, she couldn’t take it anymore, she broke out into tears. Drac had to assure her, that it didn’t have any effect on him. To make it up to him, she finally had the courage to tell the count about her life, what she had done and the reason she is here. Instead of being rejected, the count welcomed her with open arms. To her, it felt like all of her worries were taken off her shoulders, as Drac gave her an offer that changed her life forever.
Carrie had stayed in the hotel for over a year now.
Drac gave her a job, as a waitress. He trained her to use her powers well and might take them to serve guests. And since she had no family, Mavis decided to take her in. Carrie White was now gone, she had all she ever wanted. A family that loves her, just the way she is. True friends she trusts and a father, she never had. Carrie became like a second daughter for Drac, which he adored and loved, no matter what. Carrie Dracula, she finally had her wish come true. After all she went through, she deserved to be happy.
