I'd prefer to donate to Ko-fi. I don't like Patreon because you can't give a one-time contribution, and you lose access to all posts if you stop paying. I think it'd be great if you kept access to posts made while you were a paying supporter
I ask because lately my patreon's become very inactive - since I started it a year ago I've had only one patron, and yes, most of that is my own fault for advertising it poorly. However, I tend to avoid advertising it very much because I feel I don't utilitise it enough 8n8 I'm meant to be using it for posting teasers, wips and speedpaints, but as of late it's felt very pointless and I only post update notifications there anyway (something that's free to everyone). Heck, I've shared teasers on twitter more than I have on my patreon.
I get that the stable income provided by patreon is more helpful to me in the long run, but the issue is that I just can't keep to a schedule, anyway! I recently changed charges from monthly to every 3rd update, and even then it takes me a good 2-3 months before I actually enact the charge because I take so long drawing panels, and all for $1 each time. It isn't really worth it, at all.
If I had to choose, I'd be much more willing to donate a lump sum to a ko-fi one time than sign up to scheduled regular payments, especially for something I'm getting no benefit from regularly. I've seen other people move from Patreon to Ko-fi too, and I feel like this might be a better choice for me... But I want to know what you guys think. Thanks for reading <3
