Gold Eagle Sun- Man by tarkheki Gold Eagle Sun- Man by tarkheki
The second half to "Black Bear Moon- Woman" [ fav.me/d9bunkt ], this image depicts the masculine entities respectively.
Eagle is the perfect personification of the ideal male in our teachings: The guardian, the sentinel, the silent listener, monogamous, dedicated father, and skilled hunter. Eagle was the first to promise to protect the children of human kind, and has been our Big Brother ever since.
Element of Fire and the colour Red are associated with men. The capacity to create and to keep warm- but also destroy.
The sun- the male element- is also associated with fire, and the life giver- but also the life destroyer.

I wanted to have parallel with unity, but also continuous flow and contrast between both the images. If put side by side, there is an infinitive symbol created with the use of the focal directions. You may begin anywhere on either side, and the animal [bear of eagle] will send you visually arching toward the other animals, and back again. The salon being the binding motif- survival, reproduction, life, sustenance- that joins them together. A Divine Matrimony based on mutual experiences of survival, and relation.

In our cultures, we find that the best guardian for men is all that encompasses femininity, and the best guardian for women is all that that encompasses masculinity- and in that, we have a a consistent connection to support one another in harmony.

I'm looking at the two images now and they look like loving and protecting guardians who support each other and the young children. They look to each other--sun and moon--and we look to them. The colors are simply divine. :)

Thank you! I do love your introspection of the content. I think in our modern segregated contemporary western industrial lives, we forgot how to relate to one another. Not saying it was all dandy back then either- but the concepts of support and in consistent waiting upon the other was far more realized- if at least in teaching to our youth and adults- than today.

Wow, this is just so bold and warming. The harmonious palette you chose is just stunning, and as always, I love learning more about the symbolism in your art. I love looking forward to learning something each and every time I see more of your art. :)

I like depth in my work. Art for the sake of exploration, or art sake, or even what one considers to be "just art" ALWAYS has a meaning. Be it a theme or inspiration- I live for the underlying messages. It's a theme within all my worldview. ;P
