Based on how the animals are becoming extinct and we as humans are so frozen, that we've become stone. It is a figurative piece that we had to make in sculpture class. (We picked one from a large list of options and I choose animal extinction)
Only two of them of not to scale, the white rhino and the elephant, the rest are life size, including the figure.
I used paper mache clay that learned how to make from Scott Stoll (Stolloween) (I hope I spelled his name right) I also used foil, newspaper, cardboard and tons of masking tape to form the animals, the figure I use card stock stuffed with newspaper, masking tape and covered her with layers of paper mache clay in sections so she wouldn't buckle under the weight of it. (It's lighter when it's dry) I made yarn fur for the little monkey which makes him super soft and fluffy. Used store bought leaves for her head to act as hair and painted everything with acrylic paint. I used for technique called leopard spotting for the figure, it was my first time trying it. Everyone thought she was made of concrete and kept touching her head to see if she was. (Now she has a little brown spot where they kept touching her smudging the paint.
) Any other questions, I'll answer them as soon as I see them. Hopefully soon and not 6 months down the road.
There is a video on Youtube of the stages of how I made this if you are interested posted under Lorehand Creations Go check it out and subscribe me to me so I can get more people. (I'm not trying to make a living off of Youtube, I have to work to pay my bills, not live off of others to do it for me. Not offence to others who do it,Its just not for me)
