I really like the way you color! I'm trying to figure out how you get all the different shades in the skin and hair without them mixing too much... do you generally use lots of layers or do you just have it on a low blend setting?

I usually work on one layer per section (so hair, skin, shirt etc.), except when I want the contrast to be a lot bigger (like white highlights or something). My brush settings are at the moment like this:
min size: 18%, density 83, color blending 20, opacity mix 31, persistence 59, and I use a square brush.

This is a really nice piece. The colours are beautiful and I love Clary's expression. Certainly among the better TMI fanart I've seen, so good on you! :D

Thank you! I practice a lot with real life pictures but mostly with drawings by other artists since it's great to see how they work with light and colors etc.
