Minecraft Midgar Concept Art (xboxOne) by Taqresu650 Minecraft Midgar Concept Art (xboxOne) by Taqresu650
When I play Minecraft, I love thinking big, and I can't get much bigger than this. Since getting Minecraft for the xbox One, I've wanted to try making Midgar (sorry PC players, I can't connect to your servers). One notable fact is that each map is roughly a kilometer by kilometer in width and length. And on the largest map, you can have a grid of 5 maps by 5 maps (seen above). This gives me plenty of room to stretch out the city. The height however, is an issue I'm working on. I believe it is 256 meters tall, but I have to make the division between the plates and the slums, and I have to include the Shinra tower, which has 70 floors. Even if I make 3 block high floors, I run into some issues. There is also the fact that you can't explore all of Midgar in any of the games.
In the middle of my image is a simple sketch of how I think Midgar will look when I connect all the maps together (item frames can allow you to connect 25 maps together into a super large map). The bottom right is when I was looking into the train designs, because I want to make trains, and train cars you can enter (although I doubt I can make them move or function like real trains). Keep in mind that this is also concept art, I can make Midgar with a wider diameter as long as it doesn't surpass 5km.

I do not own Square Enix, Final Fantasy, or anything associated with them, this is, in a way, fanart.

Dude, that's awesome. I used to play on Xbox butt my brother has the console in his room now, so I'm all out PC. Do you have that built on your Xbox? If you do, could you possibly take a picture of it with your camera and post it on here?

Thanks. It's still a work in progress though. I haven't been jumping on Minecraft a lot lately. I'm still trying to figure out the screenshot options of the Xbox One (I think I have an idea on how to submit one to facebook, but for da...). I'm still getting used to some of the most recent updates to the Xbox edition of Minecraft since I've never played the PC edition. I'm really, really hoping for a new height limit because that is one of my biggest obstacles with the Shin-Ra Building.

By the way, I know kind of how you feel. You could say I "stole" the Playstation and have it hooked up in my room lol

Look at your Xbox help menu and settings to figure out how to screenshot. I've seen a few people that use Xbox screenshots for their YouTube channels.

Since I'm purely pc, I don't really like the controllers that much. It might have to do that I haven't played on a console in ages

I'll have to look at the help menu then.

I'm the opposite lol Even when playing an MMO, I have a hard time keeping track of all the keys I need to press. It's made it games like League of Legends hard for me to get used to. I usually use the arrow keys (as opposed to the WASD keys) with my left hand and my mouse with the other in most online games. With a console controller, I know the general functions of the buttons and I like having a grip.
