Pluto by Tapwing Pluto by Tapwing
Pluto- ' to good I give gold, to grey I give solemn, to wicked I punish. of black and white void twisting nether I rule under earth. am just, I am cruel, I am the unforgiving king. Pluto '

I didn't do this for the previous planets, but I thought it'd be neat to tell a bit about what thought when into this designs for the series.

creation- Pluto first started off as something inspired by a scorpion (part of that element was kept with the tail shape) it being a rather feared creature and being poisonous; seemed like a good place to start for a god of the dead.
He got his canine features as a rather obvious reference to the 3 headed dog Cerberus, a more subtle detail given to him is the hooves of a horse referencing the black horse-drawn chariot Hades rode.
A main element in his design is the idea of opposites -black/white, heaven/hell, good/evil.
leading to the idea for his face; being split down the middle and having two different emotional expressions (inspired by another opposite Comedy/tragedy), he sees everything from two opposite points of view.
in the way of colours I tend to draw some inspiration from the planets themselves.
I cant remember where, but I read that Pluto has different colours depending on were it is/ what the sky's like/ etc.
Red, grey or golden colours.
gold also ended up being a bit of reference to wealth as Hades was associated with.

This looks like the dog-man Ra in Egyptian mythology. This is really cool! The colors and design of the character and background is well put together!

Probably my favorite out of the series (currently, because I don't think you've done them all? Unless I missed some while surfing your gallery to check XD).
Makes me wonder if you have heard the planets series by Gustav Holst? The original suite does not include Pluto, nor Earth, but does include all the other planets. Pluto was added in 2000, 66 years after the original suite's composer died.
