This is dedicated to my grandma, who I fondly call "nanay" which actually means mom in Tagalog. She's the cutest nanay I could ask for! She's more of a diva than my mom, always there for our family (in all the ways you could think of), likes dressing up even when there's no occasion, and treats us like we're her children. She always manages to cheer me up when I'm feeling down. I feel really, really close to her as I would always stay at her house when I don't have anything to do at ours. As she used to look after us when we were young, almost as if she was really our mom, I always felt that it was my responsibility to look after her too as she grew older.
My nanay is the strongest person I know (of course, along with my parents, haha!) as she battled cancer this year. There were many times where we almost lost hope but she's now cancer-free! And as her birthday is coming up, I wanted to dedicate this work to her.
She used to be able to sew or knit things and clothes so I drew two hands knitting while two Diamond Finches help. Finches symbolize "bright times ahead", joy, happiness and health which are what I really want for my grandmother. The tree in the middle symbolizes strength and recovery from illness. The foliage springing out from the cloth symbolizes life and perseverance.

-This is the first time I drew something like this digitally, haha! It was really fun to do this and a bit frustrating as heck cause I have no idea how to draw a tree that isn't up close. ;u; PROCESS
