One of the questions I have about gameoverse is that where does it lie when it comes to the real world? Are humans actually playing these games in real time but don’t notice a cat girl and magenta dinosaur? Is it an after-hours Wreck-it Ralph situation? Or do these games exist in their own separate universe cut off from all humanity?
And basically the plot is “if the hero wins in their own game instead of the villain winning, it’ll be game over for the hero’s world which will be exposed to what are basically galactic cyber vampires.” I thought that was ridiculous until I realized that something similar happened in Reboot. You know, “Game over. Player wins.”
Or maybe it’s a reference to if the player wins a game to completion, they feel like deleting their file to start a new game. Or maybe it’s a reference to arcade games that say game over when you finished the game.
For now I’m gonna go with the theory that this is a universe of their own where each world follows "video game rules". meaning that this isn’t a universe where "regular human players" exist. but who knows? maybe they'll have some reveal about it later on.
Another short I love the minute I saw it was PLANETRONIKA, and boy oh boy the Y2K vibes and aesthetic were hitting through the roof! The vibes I got from it are Cult classic Cartoon Network or jetix show, Something that would’ve aired in 1998, 2002 or 2004, and Obscure French cartoon. Butterfly’s design is like if Kim possible and winx club fused!
Overall, great pilots.
Expect me to put Kit through the wringer and also for crossover stuff to show up
