2. A bright-colored folk art design of the Kuna people. Originally done as body-paint, they adapted style and motifs to layered applique quilting.



Mola mola:

1. an ocean sunfish of the genus Mola and the species Mola, named for its resemblance to a mill stone. Mola molas can grow as large as 5000 pounds. Their diet is jellyfish. They sometimes lay on their sides on the surface of their water, sunning themselves.
