It does a dino good.
My rendition of a juvenile Guanlong wucaii ("Crowned dragon"), the earliest known tyrannosaurid. They were probably feathered, a lot smaller than rexes, and had crests on their heads. I figure he's still getting his adult plumage in so he isn't going to be too flashy yet, and he's still in the gawky stage too. This guy was fun.
I wanted to do something cute and gruesome--innocent, but violent. I think he actually looked a lot more innocent before I turned the organ in his mouth from a stomach to a heart; that added something just slightly sinister. But really, he's just a big baby playing with his food. Like a kitten!
Actually, my initial urge was just to draw a blood mustache. ^_^; I hope this isn't too mature--I've seen a lot gorier stuff than this on deviantart put under a normal rating, and I don't really view it as violence so much as a very messy lunch. (that, and at the time I started this I was doing a whole heap of dissections, so I'm totally jaded to innards). But if people feel like it's too much then I can switch it to mature.
For some reason I feel very attached to this. When I look at it I feel like it is in some way a self-representation. Sometimes I am the heart, and sometimes I am the teeth.
