Most of my full body character drawings in high school didn't have much diversity in terms of poses or perspectives, so I've been trying to make more of an effort to use more dynamic poses and varied angles in some of the entries in this Cover Portraits project. That's probably a lot more obvious in this one than in the first two. It looks a little off in places, but you're never gonna get better at anything if you don't challenge yourself and push past your comfort zones. That's why it's important to do more than just draw characters standing straight with thier hands in their pockets or behind thier backs or whatever. This one also ended up being fairly different to my usual style. It's sort of a merging of the kinds of characters I normally draw, and the chibi, dots-for-eyes style that the main characters of the EarthBound games tend to have, especially from Smash Bros. and onwards.

EarthBound is one of my all time favourite games, and even though I think I might like Lucas from Mother 3 more as a character, I like Mother 2/EarthBound more as a game overall. Most of the future Cover Portraits characters are probably going to be chosen with this kind of logic, where I pick a character who best represents the series those characters are from, rather than just picking the character I like the most. Of course, just like Tails and Derpy, there will be plenty of exceptions to this.
